I take it you haven't heard Kanye speak many times. This makes perfect sense once you understand the way he speaks.

What I take from that statement is that most books (ignoring technical manuals) could be much shorter and still get the same idea or point across. He believes speaking to people rather than reading books is a more efficient way to gain information. And I would have to agree.
