Hey, guys. My gf is bad at surprises, so she just told me that she got me a record player for Christmas, specifically the Crosley Cruiser (pic related). I mean, it doesn't look too bad, and the reviews are okay, but I realize that portables aren't exactly the best.
I don't want to be rude, so I can't sell/take it back. So, are there any accessories/modifications you guys would recommend to make it more usable?

You can't really modify it
Pretend to use it

Keep in mind who the reviewers are--people like your gf who have zero experience with vinyl, who go to urban outfitters and buy the cheapest TT there and a copy of the new Lana Del Rey LP.
The only reasonable thing to do is to return it. Explain to her that you appreciate the gesture but what she bought you is of horrid quality and stands a good chance of damaging your music.

Tell her to return it.

> Wonder what the fuss is about this thing
> Go check the reviews on Amazon
> After reading some shit, scroll down
> "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought"
> AM, Lana Del Rey, Adele, Taylor Swift, Mumford & Sons
> mfw

>I don't want to be rude
Honesty is the key to a successful relationship
I would end it now if you can't truthfully tell her that crosleys are shit

>Crosley Cruiser

Okay. I appreciate it, and I think I'm gonna talk to her about it. In light of this, what would you guys recommend in that general (<$100) price range?
>>61122824
if you wanna spend less than $100 DONT GET INTO COLLECTING VINYL
>>61122824
audio technica atlp-120 is one of the best cheapest one you can get for (250 :/ ) also rtfs
Fuck Crosleys return it get an Audio Technica LP60
>>61122824

you wont get anything new for less than £200 that wont fuck your shit up
if you want cheap quality you'd have to look for second hand vintage ones
