How was this album received when it came out?
Pretty poorly, was very underwhelming and felt rushed after the comparable success of Plastic Beach
It was kind of snuck into existence. Not bad. It sounds like it belongs as a B Sides to a Gorillaz B Sides album.

People hated it from what I recall. I didn't think it was anything special.
Demon Days > Gorillaz > Plastic Beach >>>>>>> The Fall
Fingers crossed we get a new one soon.

it was terrible. there was a slight novelty of it all being done on an ipad at first, but now it's the black sheep of gorillaz' discography
>Revolving Doors
Only good song

It's a shame it's considered a real album really because while they had their fair share of flaws, the 4 albums preceding it are all great.

This is just a personal thing, but it was released a few months after I first really got into music and was kind of the first time I had experienced being really disappointed by a new album from an artist that I like.

>hmm, this doesn't sound so bad

it's weird, like they didn't even try
>>61118009
"they"= basically just Damon
>>61118022
well yeah; weird how there were basically no features on the fall
>>61117994
it sounds very Gorillazesque though
>>61118036
I think it bears a few similarities to everyday robots so this may have just been damon flexing his muscles or something

I liked it desu, maybe it isn't as well written or polished as any other Gorillaz album. But it feels enjoyable in it's rawness and simplicity
