nah its all about the mic placement on those durms, especially that snare i have no clue how he does it. i'm pretty sure he mics his snare from the side which nobody really does. but a lot of his sound comes from his microphones and the way he plays. what david fridmann does is basicaly compress the drums a bunch and sets the levels which in all honesty is simplifying what he does a lot. im not saying fridmann doesnt have an impact on the sound but i think you are giving a lot of credit that should be going to kevin parker.
