I don't know much about pedals. Currently I have a compressor/ sustainer, a wah wah, and a digital delay/ looper. All were gifts. What should I get next? I like playing heavy shoegazey type stuff, southern folk music, drone metal. I've also been getting into playing persian, korean, and celtic scales over densely layered loops. Any advice?

i'm in same boat, i've heard a lot of people recommend the ts9 just to have in their arsenal, should i buy it just 'cause?
>>
get a good amp
>>

currently have a modeling amp its aight. i barely have any money. should I get a tube combo of some sort?
>>
>>61105872
eh. TS9 is best used in very specific scenarios, and unless you need it, dont. For ex.,
>blues
>boosting a mid/high-gain amp for metal/droptuning
>>61105811
For shoegazey stuff, of your amp is good, you need a reverb pedal and a dirt. Dirt will usually be a big-muff style fuzz for shoegaze, or a rat-style distortion. Also look into pitch shifters. Check out these pedals on youtube
>EHX Deluxe Big Muff
>Pro Co Rat
>Digitech Supernatural
>TC Hall of Fame
>MXR Blue Box
>Dunlop Octavio or Fuzz Face
>EHX Octave Multiplexer

Thank you, buddy. This helps a ton.

Just get whatever you think you will like best. Look up what your favorite players use to get the sounds you like and check out similar pedals. Don't get a tube scream just because. I do like them alot though. I pretty much get all the dirty sounds I need between my TS9 and Soul Food, but they won't do high gain on their own. If you like heavy distortion, look into a fuzz pedal. I personally like the Fuzz Factory for how wild it is, definitely worth a listen.

get reverb for shoegaze
TC Mini Hall of Fame, or EHX Holy Grail are some cheap ones

obviously get something for distortion or fuzz too. I don't know too much about them but, Big Muff is hugely popular for fuzz, and Boss DS-1 is an iconic distortion pedal.

just find some brands and browse their catalogs and then search youtube for some samples.

some of my favorite makers are: Way Huge, Earthquaker devices, Red Panda, Walrus audio

does anyone know a way i can double my sound live, a fuller sound as if i was recording twice. not interested in any sound loopers. i tried using a delay pedal to get the effect but it didn't really work
>>
>>61108327
>as if i was recording twice
no.

you can use two amps with different settings which can give you a really full sound though
>>
>>61108531
>>61108327
what about a pitchshifter?
>>
Does anyone know a reverb pedal with reverse reverb for sweet shoegaze tones that isn't the memory man because that pedal costs a shitload
>>
>>61108920
it will sound like an octave or other interval, not overlapped guitars. the reason a doubled guitar part on a recording sounds like it does is due to the inconsistencies on each take. you can do that live (well you can loop but you said you didnt want to).

hardwire rv7, ehx holy grail max, digitech digiverb, etcetc

also if you dont care if its in pedal form theres a lot of rack units like the alesis and lexicon ones that have reverse and often go for like 100bucks

yeah! this is a really hard sound to get. our ears are really tuned to all the usual tricks like chorus pedals, short delay... stereo is good,, especially amps with different sounds. BUT there are some pedals that are supposed to do it:

>>
>>61110838
fuzz factory is the shit right? nice tweakage
>>
>>61108327
look for dirt pedals that have parrallel wiring, slapback delays, parrallel pitch shifters/chorus, etc.
>>
>>61110931
>dirt pedals that have parallel wiring,
boss os-2, dod fx76... what else?
>>
>>61105811
You gotta get yourself a fuzz pedal dude

>very specific scenarios
an overdrive pedal is essential, you can use it as a clean boost, crunchy rhythm, or just for helping the solos cut through, get the best you can afford and dig the most
