Power noise is just big room house but somehow even more compressed to shit. Every album in this genre completely loses its novelty and becomes vapid garbage as soon as you turn the volume down past 10%, and is indistinguishable from top 40 house music. Fuck anyone who thinks that any of this is "inaccessible" or "harsh". It is literally just big room house but louder.

Discuss.

its usually more techno based you silly

The point still stands even if I have no knowledge of shitty mainstream genres of electronic music.
>>
>>61100764
yea, its more distorted and often slower but is still rhythm orientated. i dont anyone would fight this. also the album you posted is more leaning to that third wave industrial sound over power noise
>>
>>61100624
the album you chose is on the crap end of power noise. stuff like emptyset, pan sonic, or pete swanson make much more interesting music.
>>
>>61100831
isn't power noise a subgenre of industrial

Ok clearly I'm missing something. What albums do you recommend?

I listened to Vakio and loved it, but I thought of it more as noisy glitch music.

not really, they just share similar production styles sometimes

>I listened to Vakio and loved it, but I thought of it more as noisy glitch music.
I've always thought of power noise as a fairly nebulous genre. on one end you have the album you posted which comes out of the same scene as aggrotech, and on the other end I've seen people label the more rhythmic end of harsh noise as power noise, like aube. I'm also not really super familiar with pan sonic's discography I included them because they're commonly cited as one of the best acts associated with power noise and I loved their various collabs.
emptyset - recur
pete swanson - punk authority
esplendor geométrico - el acero del partido
eric holm - andoya

>I make a big deal out of it when people who are trying to learn about something they admit to not knowing about don't let taxonomic distinctions that might fall outside their wheelhouse derail their basic attempt to learn more.
