Inspired heavily by Talk Talk, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Krautrock stuff. Fusing genres whilst creating something that I hope is strong in atmosphere. Would love feedback, cheers x
>>61081737
I only had to see the cover to notice the heavy Talk Talk influence. I think you should change it a bit, 'cause it kind of makes it look like you're a tribute act that decided to make a record.
(I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, it's just that it could be a problem in the future. Good luck!)
>>61081914
Yeah I've done a few mock-Talk Talk covers, but I will move away from that art style eventually and make things more individual. Cheers!

>>61079485
This was fine but doesn't seem particularly lo-fi or experimental to me. Maybe lo-fi isn't a production-related term and I'm just not up to date on my language? As for experimentation, it steered clear of most of the typical melodic traps that electronic stuff falls into (upbeat dancey stuff, "jazzy" vaporwave trash, etc.) but was still tied down to the rhythmic conventions of typical electronic music and ends up not sounding all that fresh. But that's not unexpected if you set out to make a specific genre or limit yourself to certain musical tools/instruments, which basically all of us do. Still, it wasn't bad by any stretch, just not as good as it could have been. 6.5/10
>>61079503
I think I like this better than your previous material. I love the idea behind it, modifying instruments and sounds and including a certain element of randomization. Atmosphere of the whole thing is real threatening. My only gripe I guess is that trumpets, french horns, and certain synth sounds have very similar timbres and so the whole thing ends up not having as much textural variety as I would like. Second track was my favorite, because of that big honk that shows up shortly past the 3:00 mark, and it has parts that approach having actual melodies and themes.
>>61079516
Isn't this the same stuff though?
>>61079542
Not much to say about this, all the reccs it gets are deserved.

These all felt like they'd be good interludes or intros on black metal or maybe synthwave albums but weren't that interesting on their own.
>Selected Ambient Works
The first two were boring as hell and I hate that kick sound. The second two were much better but I wish Hope had developed a little faster.
>>61080040
Generally pretty nice. This is doubtless super plebby of me to say but your melodic choices remind me of Pogo, an electronic artist who makes songs primarily out of Disney movie samples. If you've never heard of them they're worth checking out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAwR6w2TgxY
>>61080292
Decent enough. I feel like I've critiqued this enough times that you might remember what I think.
>>61080548
Mostly boring, sometimes obnoxious. Never quite gets to the dark atmosphere I think you were going for. I didn't like.
>>61080745
This fuckin rips guy. The drums are way too low in the mix though. Very fucking frosty and grim on the whole. Maybe a touch too trve and traditionalist? I like it but a little bit of innovation here and there shouldn't be too much to ask.
>>61081359
I liked this until the vocals came in. I don't like the way they jive with the rest of the music for whatever reason. The end bit with the buzzsaw guitars was probably my favorite part.
>>61081478
I don't understand drone so unfortunately I won't be able to say much of any use about this but I really hated it. Started out boring, then it started to hurt, never went anywhere. Not my thing.
>>61081628
This was kind of intriguing but not actually that enjoyable to listen to. I think it's trying too hard to be weird and crazy. Do you do your own album art? It all has the same vibe to it. Pretty cool if you do.
>>61083013
>I liked this until the vocals came in
O- ok
Continuing from >>61082679
>>61081698
Boring and lazy 80's crap. This is the kind of stuff that should have been left where it came from. Vocals are frequently off key, lyrics are cringetacular production is fine but I don't think any of this was worth producing. Ladies Mix is truly abominable.
>>61081737
I remember telling you once that this had some neat jungly, faux world music ambiance that I liked. That opinion still stands. Not the kind of thing I could listen to forever but it's certainly good on some level.
>>61082199
Definitely not what I was expecting when I saw grind on a bandcamp thread. This is way closer to metalcore or melodeath to my ears but I do kinda like it. I has a certain charming rawness to it. Sounds like some dudes just having fun in a garage. Vocals are pretty weak though.
>>61082447
I don't really like this. Has some good melodies and some heavy beats but the noise element seem like a distracting afterthought to me and really takes away from the rest of it. The noisy parts aren't really incorporated into the music in any meaningful way, it's just a noisy snare and a gross kick most of the time.
>>61083171
I didn't dislike it overall, I just didn't really like the vocals. In retrospect I phrased that a lot more cruelly than I meant it.

Bruh did you not even hear the brilliance of the skittering static in "One" or the textures in "Island"? Very creatively incorprated into the music bruh
>>61084157
Island did nothing for me. The static bits in One were probably the best part of the whole thing but also were probably a fluke. Isolated incident, not representative of the album as a whole.

Dude this pornogrind stuff could have been super fun if the guitar tone was better. Fuzzy guitars aren't heavy enough. You gotta have that shitty scooped sound for proper slammitude. The gorenoise one is a little closer but that sounds entirely synthed/programmed which is kind of funny. I'm not really feeling the other two.
>>61088357
Admittedly, the drums are all programmed and someone took my good distortion pedal for the porno stuff. I will be re-recording 100% the pornogrind with a better guitar tone. and reuploading it.
>not really feeling the other two
to each their own
