I was so bored by this album I actually took a lot of time to explore the foundations of jazz, and I can say, after learning more about earlier jazz, this album is both boring and bland, with him trying to rip of John Coltrane without actually understanding why Trane was good in the first place.

I never said he actually was able to rip of Coltrane, I merely said he attempted to, and failed spectacularly. Its eaily one of the most boring jazz albums I've heard this year, and I have no idea why this is being chosen by so many as the best jazz album of the year when there were so many other choices that are actually good.
