Is Crossroads of Infinity really only 16 seconds long? The track lengths have been on wikipedia for quite a while, but I haven't been able to find a source for them.

This is my favorite album of all time.
It's an absolute masterpiece
>>61057002
Haven't listened to this yet, ordered the vinyl so I will wait it out and listen to that. It's 4.02 on RYM at the minute so it must be pretty fucking good.
>>61058789
Based on what little of Baroness I've heard it should be post-metal without much emphasis on either post or metal. They're an interesting band, probably worth trying even if you don't like the genre.
>>61059030
Cheers, love this series and am looking forward to reliving it in audio form.

Requesting some djentcore. The other sharethread wouldn't give it to me, and I'm bi, so I like these titty ladies, but the music is really meh. Where's the screams? I don't like it.

Lol. When I first started browsing /mu/ this album was constantly being spammed.
>>61058735
Those albums were bloated as fuck though I don't know what the fuck you're talking about
>Apotheosys - The Fall And The Triumph
>Technical black/death EP, very complex and rapid arrangements with some cool synth work for the intro and outro

Sample; none on YT but have this track from their full-length

>Hospice - Irreparableness
>A combination of really odd proggy death (think Infamia or that Deface demo I shared recently) mixed with folky dark ambient bits, sort of like what Rhadamantys did on their album. Also reminds me of Windham Hell in terms of atmosphere, surreal/lynchian as fuck

>Paria - The Barnacle Cordious
>Old-school prog metalcore. About half the tracks are instrumental, and they often have a post-rocky tinge, but the mathy bits are still satisfyingly chaotic

>What's Left Of Her - Perceptions
>One of the best metalcore releases of the 2010s. These guys are now in Save Us From The Archon, but this has a slightly different sound, with really nice lush keyboards. The whole thing is very layered and catchy.

>A mix of really heavy mathcore with excellent jazz fusion. It's super hard to pull this sound off but these guys have impressive musicianship and songwriting ability.

>Brilliant EP. Probably the best thing I've heard from all the post-Contortionist bands, the sense of melody is phenomenal and the songs don't drag despite their length.

that was as boring as i expected
>Red Tide - Type 2
>Old-school metalcore with some prog/fusion elements, think Atheist meets early Dillinger as well as some Candiria. Mostly known for the drummer going on to play in Killswitch Engage.

>The other Japanese mathcore band I know, besides bilo'u - well, Cyclamen if they count but I see em as more djent than anything. These guys have even less material but if you want to hear a very Japanese take on mathcore you'll want to track this down. Sick riffs.

>Flub - Advent

>Pangaea - Roots
>Very melodic proggy metalcore, no djent here. Like BTBAM but more focused and not prone to genre-jumping outside of metal (aside from a bit of post-rock), I'd also compare it to the excellent and underappreciated band Mapmaker.

too much of the genre is filled with white supremacist nazi rape bullshit

Yellow & Green showed a Great Leap Forward in songwriting, production and performance for the band. Where the concepts on Red and Blue are well-intentioned but somewhat lacking, Yellow & Green is entirely self-actualized and is their most ambitious concept to date (excluding Purple bc it hasn't been released yet).
It's to be expected that pleb-tier normies would complain of the change in musical direction simply because it's not the exact same record put out by the band a few years prior.
>>61067191
>Great Leap Forward
are you trolling?
I'm all for bands experimenting and growing, and I agree that alot of the flourishes on Yellow and Green worked well, (electro stuff on Take my Bones Away and Eula),
but have you heard the song Crown and Anchor? it's tripe. Or the first 3 minutes of Twinkler? IS it any wonder that the best parts of their music are when they revert to their sludge rock ways...
Hoping Purple finds a better balance and cohesive mix of their heavier sound and their new commitment to catchier choruses and songwriting.
