There's been vaporwave sounding ambient, noise, and other genres for years now. This album is basically vaporwave-sounding shoegaze and it's one of the best vaporwave albums out there. There's probably people who are trying to capitalize on the label, but I think some people just try to seek out the same headspace a lot of vaporwave comes from in different ways and they come out sounding really different, but they still hit the same points aesthetically.

You could get away with not calling this vaporwave, but I think the vibe is there. I wouldn't listen to this if I was in a chiptune mood but there's something about it that sounds unquestionably vaporwave to me.
Anyone know anything about the new vaporwave library? I miss having somewhere where you could download any release for free. Especially since Dream Catalogue started charging for all their shit, which I've never really seen anybody talk about for some reason since that used to be the best thing about their label.
