I completely disagree. People on /mu/ would love nothing more than a pop star to become a master of avant-garde. Hell it's why we faun over Scott Walker. I went in with a very open mind as I have always been a huge fan of The Flaming Lips and have never had anything against Miley (I still don't). The reason I didn't like it was because it was boring psych-ish pop and the lyrics were annoying. The instrumentation wasn't terrible, but overall I just don't think it was a good album. I think my opinion is shared by the majority of people who didn't like it.
