What is your opinion on Danse Manatee? Is it AnCo's underrated gem, or was Pitchfork right this time. Lastly, is it worth listening to if you loved Spirit They're Gone?
i love it
ahhh good country is one of their best songs
Sometimes the high frequencies really cut my eardrums, besides that I like some songs (Essplode, Living Toys)
It's definitely one of their weird ones, I'm sure with time I'll like it but I'm not sold the way I'm sold on Spirit.
I really enjoy it when I'm in the mood. Fave track to trip to on there is Meet the light Child.
I can't imagine how it felt to hear stgstv when it came out, loving it, then hearing Danse as their next release. Huge contrast in direction between the two
It has some really great parts (Meet the Light Child is a masterpiece) but it does lose steam and sound really limp-dicked for significant portions of the album.
I love STGSTV but I think every other AnCo album is nonsense

p4k is never right
I didn't like it at all my first few listens, but I came to enjoy most of it, especially the longer tracks and poppier songs like essplode
Penguin Penguin is still unsalvageable imo
Lablakely Dress is a top 10 anco song for me though, I wish they did more stuff like it

A problem I have with the noise is that it doesn't feel like it compliments the music, as in STG. It just feels like it was thrown on top of some relatively good pop songs, which ruins them.

I love Penguin Penguin. It's like ecstatic slop that fades into what I think are drill noises?

yo I think penguin penguin is a dank song

it's pretty much just the drumming for me, too jittery and shat out, kinda ruins the song
