>calling something dated
You're probably a Death Grips fan, aren't you?
>>61011038
certain music has simply aged badly, stop being pretentious
>>61011356
so you are a dg fan
>>61011369
no, and i'm not op.
so you honestly think new order sounds like it came out yesterday?
>>61011414
its just a massively retarded criticism. the only music that sounds like it came out yesterday is music that came out yesterday. so in 10 years when your favourite song is 10 years old you're going to stop enjoying it because its dated? retard
>>61011485
How the fuck does this album sound dated?
>>61011485
this has aged very well for it's time, actually.
>>61011435
I think it's quite the opposite. Because this album sticks to a very simple and basic rock structure it's pretty timeless
>>61011502
it's not retarded at all, certain production values, aesthetics, and sounds from certain albums are very of their times, whereas others aren't restricted by this.
you're retarded for not being able to get your head around this.
>>61011579
the arrangements and instruments do sound dated on this one.
pic related for similar reasons.
>>61011590
Nah, it sounds distinctly 50's
>>61011038
I do like Death Grips now that you mention it. I imagine someone will be calling their music dated 10 years from now though.
>>61011917
6/10 I chuckled
good job anon
Probably the downward spiral, but it's still just so great.
>>61011605
Not that anon, but I get where he's coming from. It's really a none criticism. Everything sounds of its era, that doesn't affect the quality of the music.
>>61015030
There's a lot of gimmicky shit from certain eras that makes it way into otherwise decent music which can ruin it.

You're a complete autist. You should learn to appreciate albums for being of their time instead of expecting them to be timeless. Nothing is timeless.
>>61011579
>>61011723
same
>>61015171
Nothing is timeless. But some albums are more timeless than others...
Art doesn't "date," and it can be certainly timeless. How can you quantify an evolution in this regard? Technology? Production techniques? Compositional techniques?
Nope. An electric guitar is more technologically advanced than a violin, but what sounds better is subjective.
Production? Lofi sounds "better" to a lot people than the latest cutting edge production.
Compositional? Minimal can be just as engaging as complex. Some of the greatest songs use nothing but the oldest, most "dated" instrument in history. The human voice.
What sounds dated is usually dictated by current trend. Today's dated could be tomorrow's fresh. All that modern synthpop like Chvrches and such would've sounded dated in the early
90s. And /mu/'s favorite group the Death Grips wouldnt have raised eyebrows if they came out in the late 90s.
>>61011356
typical millennial. please find a bullet and put it in your head
>>61015769
>Art doesn't "date,"
Honestly, I never gave a single fuck whether an album sounds dated or not.
But as far as albums that get accused of sounding "dated" go, pic related is among my favorites.
>>61015919
Prove it.
Oh, that's right. You can't.
>>61015327
That made no sense.
