i am bad at quantifying my music taste so i don't know. the unnatural world and giles corey s/t are definitely up there. but this is one i love and listen to the most frequently.

I'll give you a few. Unlike QOTSA's previous efforts it lacks much thematic direction, it's ultimately less adventurous, few interesting ideas. No songs strike me as particularly great. The piano tracks didn't do it for me either. At least Era Vulgaris packed some grit and TCV had better highlights too. As someone who used to consider the band as my favourite I just didn't really care much for it or understand why everyone else did. Then there's Fairweather Friends. Also the awful album cover.
