I don't know why people think Dad Rock is bad, it's just a classification. Led Zeppelin, Rush, Pink Floyd, all Dad Rock, but they're all still great artists. Just because somethings got a meme on it doesn't make it trash.
I think Led Zeppelin is a great band, a bit overrated by some, but still the greatest hard rock band of their era.
To really understand why they are revered you have to listen to their live performances. I don't think anyone who likes rock or metal music can listen to this:

Just cause it's from an era so long ago you can call it dad rock doesn't dismiss how good they were as a band. In their prime 1971 to 1975 they were the pinnacle of what a rock group should be. They were tight as hell and made some really good shit. Check out their live work and bootlegs, they really display what kind of an animal this band was with their effortless jamming on stage. Their last two albums are hit and miss, but the rest of their songs have some really classic and experimental stuff on them, you can't deny how influential these motherfuckers were.

Objectively shit taste. I don't listen to AC/DC a lot anymore, but the last time I put on Back in Black I didn't make it through the whole thing. The title song is actually good, but is so culturally pervasive, I can't hear it anymore without thinking of Walmart or some other shit. The rest of the album is downhill from there. Bon Scott AC/DC and Brian Johnson AC/DC are like two different bands.
