"Meeting" Robert Fripp
First, of all I admit I can be somewhat a faggot. I am not the type of person who really gives a shit about celebrities or would want to meet famous musicians However, as a guitarist, I have a soft spot for my all time hero Bobby F. I went to go see King Crimson in NYC when they most recently toured the states in 2014. I didn't want to miss this show or be late from bullshit traffic so I left from New Jersey on public transport pretty early. I got there early I walked into the theatre and I saw Bobby F., in full suit walking down the corridor into the theatre where everybody would be sitting. I know his position on people bugging him but for some reason I thought because I am young he might think I don't know shit about King Crimson and might not care that I say something. He was standing in the back of the room in darkness staring at the stage literally not batting an eyelash. He was doing some sort of preshow ritual. It was so fucking intense. I was like the only one who saw him. There were tons of prog-rock neckbeards in the ranks, yet I felt like nobody else noticed him. As I passed him, I said "Have a good show sir". And he broke his gaze, looked at me with picrelated psychotic stare and nodded in acknowledgment. He went right back to staring at the stage. The absolute madman. It was sooooo fucking cool.
