It's kinda hard to find DSBM like that since thin and lofi production are pretty much the hallmarks. Try Lyrinx's Nihilistic Purity, I guess.

I would say these two albums are pretty similar in terms of style, and obviously the vocals. Mgla has "stronger" drumming though and by that I mean he experimented more.

The only real unique thing Exercises in Futility is the drum work (particularly the ride and crash cymbals) and perhaps the lower pitched vocals which also appears in acts like Drudkh and Nokturnal Mortuum
So not very unique, but has some differences from most black metal albums that make it stand out a little, which is why we are talking about it.
