What is /mu/'s opinion on Electro Swing?

I find the genre not enjoyable, but not horrible.

I mean, I personally like it. I find it a good mix.
However, the recent Caravan Palace album was kinda underwhelming, and Parov Stellar hasn't released anything great since Mojo Radio Gang.

The youtube based scene surrounding it is cringeworthy. A good deal of it is simply sped up with a 4/4 beat and some dubstep effects, a la nightcore.
I've considered doing some mixing with classic ragtime or new orleans jazz but I wouldn't want to be associated with electroswing.
That said, I still have some more listening to do in the genre. Anything you'd recommend OP?

Electroswing was the big fad maybe four years ago, and like all musical electronic fads, the scene got filled with a bunch of newgrounds-tier shit. Caravan Palace is reddit-core and kinda cringy, but Parov Stellar's earlier stuff is kinda cool. I'm not about to write off the genre, but right now finding good stuff is tricky in the minefield of fedora.

I would suggest earlier Parov Stellar and Caravan Palace songs. But, the recent CP album has some good ones, as long as you avoid Comics.
Its all personal taste, but everyone will like one song from a genre, even if they hate the entire genre. Just branch out is all I can say.

I love Caravan Palace and I love me some electro swing
But this album was a COMPLETE let-down. They just sound like a normal pleb's trip hop musician.
