EAST-CENTRAL EUROPEAN POST-SOVIET STATES EDITION #1

Discuss here the traditional and regional musics of Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. As I'm nowhere near intimately familiar with the musics of either country, the recommendations I can give are extremely preliminary and subject to change as we, together, explore more of their traditions.

A search on what.cd reveals a shit load of metal, which is pretty far from what I want...

Managed to find some stuff on what.cd, as well as a bit of stuff on slsk.

I listened to to Folkways' The Music of the Ukraine earlier today and enjoyed it quite a bit. It's very short so i think it's a neat little introduction to those unfamiliar with the region.

I also listened to an album called Music of Belarus by Nataliya Romanskaya and Kirmash. It's a pretty new album by a quite young troupe playing traditional songs, so it has a very clean sound.
There's also a Folkways album with music from Belarus, but i haven't listened to it yet.

Earlier today i found an album with Ukrainian hurdy-gurdy music on Soulseek, but the user went offline before i got the whole thing downloaded.
