I am on a minimalism spree and I am doing that, but istead of step 2, I rated with the new account all the minimalism stuff I already rated with main account (the system will show alot of recommendation that is stuff you rated with your main account, remove them to find the real recommendations).

Guys. I am over 800 album ratings in and my favourite albums are still depressingly /mu/core-centric. Which is to say, my 5's and 4.5's are mostly predictable.
I'm not sure if this is because I am now more discerning/not easily impressed or if my development is stunted and I will never transcend beyond /mu/. I'm scared.

It is a fucking large amount. Not by RYM standards, but by normal human standards. I don't rate until I've listened 3 to 5 times. I've been taking music seriously for about 5 years actually. I don't really browse /mu/ anymore either. So yeah...
Anyway, 2,000 ratings is so far away it's not even worth thinking about at this point.

Honestly don't worry about it, anybody who discredits your taste just because you like a lot of albums that are more popular is pretty shallow to begin with.
Just don't think too much and it'll probably naturally happen at some point that you'll find new albums you love. Though you'll still probably love the /mu/core albums a lot (which there is nothing wrong with).

There's >200 pendent artist corrections at all times, imagine how many release corrections are in queue, be it both updates and new releases.
One trick is to add an artist credited on the recording to the database, so when the go over the artist they'll also approve the release.
