Julia Holter, SotL, Mount Eerie and Battles (although that album was disappointing) are particularly good

It's more like a mix between black metal and stuff like La Quiete and Tristan Tzara than Orchid though but still
I think there's a lack of emoviolence in sweden

As for Mount Eerie, my favourite albums are Dawn and Lost Wisdom
It's basically two albums filled with the acoustic guitar stuff from the glow, both albums are really sad and beautiful too
The rest of Mount Eerie's stuff is, well, a bit more eerie and drawn-out but you might like those albums too
None of them really sound similar

Just started it, we barely even know what we're called yet
though I've been playing with the same guys for like three years so there might be some of our old band's stuff out there but it's neither screamo nor is it good
As for the music, it's powerviolence-ish solely because I use a grindy drum style, pretty much like the bands I mentioned
The rest is just loud tremolo picking and dissonant chords but I really like it so far
You should totally start that band, I don't think screamo should be a genre that takes itself too seriously anyway

Thanks, I dislike Tortoise because they have one track that they've remade a million times and are pretentious as fuck about it.
And I dislike YLT because they bore me to tears, idk they're the kind of band that you just know are critically loved but for all the boring reasons critics like to hype bands.
Like how something like The Wrens are constantly hyped, like i don't know anyone who actually likes The Wrens but I can point to a lot of critics who really like The Wrens for some reason.
