Can we agree that NME is currently the cancer of the music blog sphere?
Caring about the "music blog sphere" is cancer.

NME was always horrible.
On one hand they are one of the few publications that give the Manic Street Preachers and some other bands the recognition they deserve, and sometimes their "taste" is pretty good or they write a couple of interesting articles.
On the other they are still stuck in the "garage indie rock will save rock'n'roll! Hail guitar bands! God bless revivalist 80's dream pop trite" phase and think Arctic Monkey's AM is the album of the decade.
They're pretty bad, but there are much worse publications. Imo they're just okay.

That probably comes from the fact that they have multiple writers all pulling the company in different directions. You can have 1 or 2 patrician writers who have nice taste with the rest being plebs who write everything else.
99% of music journalism is garbage, OP.
