Why would you be thinking of buying something you don't know much about?

I have tryed these though I do not own one myself. I played one at a friends place who swears by them and he let me play it for the session. Not my cup of tea. They lack the round low end that i look for in bass in exchange for brighter mids and cleaner treble. Im sure someone can make these work but it sounds deffinetly different to the standard bass sound of a jazz bass for example but im sure you could make them work if youre not playing anything too heavy.

I play a lot of shoegaze/experimental stuff like slowdive, bowery electric, the telescopes, etc, so i dont really know how important that'd be

When I was in high school I remember this one guy buying one of these because McCartney used it, then he ended up looking ridiculous playing in a thrash metal band.

I tried it out and I don't know as much about basses but I wasn't crazy about it, it was a little too bland and clean for me.

Save a bit more, get the Hofner. The cheaper one is only 200 more or something.
