>ITT: we rate albums track-by-track
Why weren't the interludes on pic related full songs? They're among the best material on the album, while the rest is mostly fairly flaccid hipster disco.

I honestly don't get why people think Kevin is such a musical genius, I live in Australia and he is all the music press ever fucking talk about. His music is average, every album has a couple of decent songs and that's it.
>>60674840
>Happy
>not 10
>>60674899
I stumbled upon a top 50 for the year publiched by some magazine and, disregarding the absurdity of publishing such a list in November, it had Currents in the #4 spot. The album isn't bullshit like a lot of /mu/ thinks, but it's just decent pop with a few standout tracks. It's hardly transcendent and isn't even as good as Lonerism.
>>60674980
acoustic version is better m90

The Aussie press is far-removed from the US/UK thing. Flume/Chet Faker/Peking Duk aren't close to the household names they are in australia
desu on the whole the taste floor is much higher in AUS than USA, and even UK

Can I ask, if Marina were a 4/10 would you enjoy her music?
>>60675075
Her music wouldn't change, so yeah? Is this supposed to be a trick question?
Made this a while ago
>>60675048
It's nice, but not better
>>60675075
Yes
>>60675075
i just mean, like, for some musicians, attractiveness is a major component of their art-- one could argue that bowie exemplified this.
>>60675177
>Bowie and image
Don't you fucking tempt fate
>>60675195
Dubs summons Scruffi
>>60675256
The tracks aren't too consistent online, so I updated it so it's clear what's being rated.
>>60674899
I don't think anyone thinks he is a musical genius, but he is definitely a great producer. Lonerism is such a well produced album with lots of interesting stuff going on.
Not counting the 30 second interlude tracks because they really aren't significant
>>60675470
here's tomboy
Might be a bit inflated, but it's a personal favorite of mine
>>60675337
They way they talk about him on triple j you would think he is a beatle. I wasn't particularly fond of lonerism either.
>>60675470
>Davy Jones Locker
>10/10
Wat
Crosswords deserved that though
Sequential Circuits and Principe Reals thru Acid Wash deserve higher
i don't care for track ratings too much. stuff like Alanson, Crooked River can't be rated per say.
>>60675470
wtf, I just noticed that the cover spells out pbvsgr>>60675608
>>60674823
>Using mathematics to describe opinion
>>60676394
idk how I accidentally linked to those glow pt 2 ratings there, but they're pretty bloated desu
>>60676353
I marked Davy Jones' and Shadow of the Colossus in full black to denote that I wasn't counting them, not to say that they're 10/10s
The album is my favorite of the year, I want to rate it a 10 out of bias but I tried to keep it realistic because the album definitely has some shortcomings
so great.
>>60675470
here's my chart for the EPs
>>60676366
your chart is eye cancer
>>60674823
>>60676475
Yeah but Acid Wash that low? That's the only problem I have with it when it comes down to that. It's as good as any other track on there.
>>60676366
Why didn't you use the blue
>>60678542
I like the opening a lot, but the beat just wasn't suited for me; especially when songs like Crosswords are so poppy in comparion
I'll really only play it if I'm doing a full run of the album
I pretty much found this EP stuck on the bottom of my shoe one day.
i don't which album to do give me some ideas
/mu/'s average score is 7.8/10
How does that make you feel?
>>60679069
lol
they went to my school
all i know is a kid in it was a dick
high hopes for future albums?
>>60678766
That's what it's there for, it's an intro, and for that purpose it's perfect so I'd say it deserves a better score.
>>60679376
No, sadly. Their technical skill is lacking and they aren't bold enough to reach out to new territory, judging from their sound and live performances.
I'll be satisfied if their next release has something as enjoyable as their EP closer.
Try BBNG, not entirely dissimilar and exceptionally good.
Another group new to the public
>>60679452
bbng are great. loved their thing w ghostface
>>60676107
Not a bad call desu, Blood on the Rooftops is god-tier. I think Trick of the Tail was a better album overall, though
Sufjan albums I've listened to. I need to listen to Michigan and ADP more to give a good opinion on them.
>>60682312
>>60682327
Forgot to mention for Illinois I left out Pullman, and Conjunction of Drones but rated the other interludes because they're nice.
>>60682341
C&L is best Sufjan.
>>60682352
ok i liked Carrie and Lowell but holy shit this is so inflated
Lonerism was an amazing album, innerspeaker was good for a first but then currents wasn't as great, only a few tracks stood out (less I know the better bb)
pls no bully
>>60682925
Nice bait bro though I can see sort of where you're coming from if you're serious.
JK you're fucking delusional
>>60678518
good taste
i think soma should be 9 or 10 tho
I miss experimental U2.
>>60683070
It's past 4 AM on a Sunday morning and I'm putting off finals work. I'm also one of the few anons who likes U2 here so why not?
>>60682925
hello pitchfork
>>60683078
oops fixing from 5->10 scale: it's 5.1 avg and 5 overall
This is actually a really great album if you remove the middle three tracks.
>>60683082
it's ok, war is an amazing album
>>60683106
It's probably their most consistent outside of Achtung Baby, that's for sure.
if you disagree and/or think this album is good then you're a hipster scum with daddy issues
>>60683108
Oops I accidentally messed this one up, the final track is supposed to be 8/10. Score stands though.
>>60683123
fuck
>>60683134
Kek this album is golden
