Pitchfork does mean something to me. I think that, despite their waning influence, they are still colloquially regarded as the quintessential music tastemaker in the US. And I feel like they terribly misjudged the album.
However, many on this board reject p4k and other critics, saying that music is entirely subjective and you should like what you like and not listen to what others have to say, which has its merits as its philosophy, but is not one which I personally subscribe to.
I put that there because I was fully expecting the anti-p4k mongers to come in droves.
