Pretty sure it's a recent re-issue.
I've only been collecting for the past three years, been collecting a lot of re-isssued stuff as they push em out.
Thank god though, since it allowed me to actually grab vinyl of early Modest Mouse.

Uhh.
I just like Vampire Weekend's sound and ska influences.
Out of curiosity I did a bit of quick research on the backstory and references in the album right now though.
Didn't realize how many historical references and messages I was missing.
I don't really have much of an opinion when it comes to popular music unless it's Modest Mouse, which I will defend to death.
Picked up Blood Visions & a Flipper live album but that's all for recent purchases

Even though it's not a full album, Nobody's First and You're Next is an underrated gem and probably some of the best stuff they're produced recently.
New Modest Mouse isn't the same as old Modest Mouse, but I still like it.
I don't like it as much, and I don't like it for the same reasons, but it fills a separate niche for me.
I will say that Strangers to Ourselves has some great songs and even draws back to sounds from their older albums.
God is an Indian for instance reminds me of Lonesome Crowded West.
Strangers isn't a masterpiece, but there's enough variation in it for most fans.

Yeah, so many greater parallels to the young people portrayed in the album adequately portrayed through the bouncey rhythms with gorgeous and complex melodies/harmonies. It's basically a complicated album about having your cake and eating it too when it all doesn't have to be that complicated. Certainly much more solid than MVOTC.
