Nah this was just the most hyped album of all time. People like a good hype train, so they disregarded NOTM at first to get ready for this. When it just turned out decent, they got dissapointed and went back and realized how great NOTM was/is. TPAB is a very solid record tho

You're correct. Both are stylistically, and musically differentiated by a very wide margin. Comparing the two is canonically fucking retarded. This album was overhyped, but not overrated. It did a good job on what it was aiming to execute, and some of the tracks that don't grab you before, really tend to grow on you if you care enough to give it a more in-depth listen.
