>see same les paul as mine
>check straps
>my strap was a gift from a friend
>with a duck and an octopus embroided
>look closer
>see pattern in the strap
>clearly looks like the shape of the octopus
> go to cops
>they acknowledge it could be the same guitar
>won't do a thing
>fast forward 2015
>i'm stalking him, affraid of doing anything
>cops won't check the guitar
TL;DR - guitar was stolen, i have the fucker, not his adress, cop won't do a thing.
Dunno what to do, any advices ?

Two options :
- Rely on the cops. (Aucune idée de leur flemmardise en France, mais bonne attente de 20 mois pour avoir une réponse ) I mean you could get testimony from that friend who did you the strap right ? They could get him hard, right ? Maybe try going back there, try to talk to someone cool rather than an asshole who will just decieve you
- You find the fucker yourself, you're talking about his school so you could find him yourself if you really wanted, and you have a big talk with his parents. Don't forget your friend in this situation as well, some fucker claming your son stole a guitar wouldn't be believed. Be persuasive, don't show that cops don't do shit about it ( in case you might get to the point you need to threaten him to go to the cops with everything )
Forgive him and take what's yours, or make him shit you'll be free to decide at this point

OP, I'd also recommend the American approach, but make sure to plan it out intricately and then act with precision, if you're following his online accounts then see when he's playing in a show again, and go and beat the fuck out of him and take your guitar and be more careful about it (unless he's bigger than you, in which case use a bat, but he looks like a bitch to me)

Don't do shit without cops and remember that if you come meet him alone he might hide the guitar who knows where. Just get the cops and let them get into the house to see the guitar is in his house and THEN prove its yours.
