Jesus just shut the fuck up already. Why is bleep so fucking painfully difficult lately? Everything is shit according to bleep, we hardly talk about music anymore. Footwork is shit, hardcore is shit, jungle is shit, grime is shit, etc. It's like half the people here just come to say a genre they don't like it shit and then sit back with their smug shit eating faces like they've made some grand statement. Actually, this is not ok.
Look here you shitposters. /bleep/ was formed in 2014 for the discussion of all kinds of club music. That includes footwork and even happy hardcore. Every time you make an ironic shitpost, you tarnish the ideas of the original /bleep/ founders, even though you are probably neobleep that arrived here a month ago asking for album recs.
Even if you don't like a certain style of club music, you have to be tolerant of it and refrain from shitposting for this community to continue existing.
>>60586149
Electronic music listened to by bongs that love posting the same may-mays over and over and going to clubs listening to generic dance music that is only enjoyable while on drugs.
Why doesn't /bleep/ discuss great bands like these instead of all this generic hardcore bullshit. Nobody likes that shit except for braindead mdma users at clubs.

at this point, I can't tell if its a meme or if its true hate
>Of course, by now we all know that footwork was a mistake we as a culture should be embarrassed about. It is a genre that clumsily picks at will from the stupidest corners of house, ghetto house and trap, ending up in an aesthetic no man's land where it is both kind of all of these things and kind of none of them. It includes severely misplaced elements such as rapping and chopped and screwed vocals that it's hard to imagine even seemed like a good idea at the time. On top of that, there's the genre's whole aesthetic and attitude: the constant cursing, pseudo-nihilistic lyrics, "EVERYTHING STARTS FROM NOW, I DON'T GIVE A FUCK!!!!!" vocal theatrics, juvenile and simplistic emotional content, cheesy samples "IM GEEKED UP ON DEM BARZ NIGGA" - it all seems made by and for a 15 year old boy obsessed with the black culture who's curious about dance music but can't handle stuff that's a tad more involved than simplistic triplet sub-bass grooves.
>But see, here's the mistake people make: while this is all true - footwork is fundamentally stupid and certainly not great dance music - that doesn't mean it's necessarily BAD.
>See, I was pretty much the kid described above when I loved DJ Rashad in middle school (I was into Lil Wayne rather than MCR, but nonetheless), a vaguely alternative and somewhat angsty kid. That's not me anymore. I've listened to Michael Pisaro and avant-garde jazz, read modernist and post-modernist literature, seen arthouse movies, been diagnosed with clinical depression and realized the bottomless void at the heart of the human condition is way scarier than an angry black man yelling "GHOST". And there's one thing I was surprised to have in common with that middle-schooler.

i feel so bad for pardners
but in all seriousness if they mislabel dubstep and whatnot already, what do you think they know about House & techno.
i remember having a discussion with a pardner @ the club once, and when i said i was checking out house lately he thought i meant some Avicci bullshit.
Wew lad, Pardner+/Bleep/=Suffering i will pray for your cowboy's out there.
>>60599035
whats the difference between a pard and cowboy
>>60597514
can i get an answer to this lads
i want to make an all woop sound mix
>>60599210
Imo Pardners are truly wasteman, never go to the club and be like
>went to a hiphop/urban club once and it was terrible so this must be the same.
and complain on /bleep/ about it instead of starting something and always complain.
Cowboy's are Americans that know their situation is shit but still try to make it the best, even if that means moving out of the familiar prairie. they make their scene's and know what their talking about.
they know not to spam /bleep/ with EDM crap our trap music Yes i'm talking to you S/T.
I would count NYC people as cowboy, but only barely. and let's be complete honest most Americans here don't live near a decent club scene so their pardners.

Why do bongs assume all pards have shit taste?
>>60599428
Why are bongs so obsessed with clubbing, I prefer listen to everything at home, even if we had good clubs here I doubt I'd bother to go to them often.
>>60600192
>>60600192
you've never been to a club, that's why.
you don't understand what a wonderful thing clubbing is.
>>60599911

why are feet so good bleep?
lad, have any of you ever noticed that you've become better at detecting at which point during the day your serotonin-count is highest after taking MD?
Like i'll feel like suicidally depressed in the morning but then slowly happier and happier as day turns to evening.
>>60600640
please do not not kill urself m8
>>60600849
I can't tell if that double negative was on purpose or not.
Either ways, i'm too busy to kill myself anyways.
>>60600640
how long have you been taking mdma? in the first two years that shit hit me like a train for a few days after. now its fine
>>60600262
funktion ones.
any drum n bass man in?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnZsluWHdus just ordered this off discogs can't wait
>>60601097
First time I took it was the start of this year. I think January.
It's not that I took some the last couple of days, it's just that I've become more aware of my natural serotonin-flow after experiencing it a few times.
Yeah I still get one really shitty day two days after doing MD where nothing in the world seems to satisfy me, but I think i'm starting to learn how to cope with it.
My biggest problem is actually that I suck and grind too much on my lips when I'm peaking and I end up looking like a nigger who can't eat without whining for a week after.
>>60586106
really harsh dnb. eRRe is the only artist I can think off the top of my head, Cooh does some technoid stuff to
>>60601154
I always got one of these in my pocket when clubbing, that and drinking water otherwise my lips will look ashy as fuck when it's finished.
But i can understand, when i chew gum when on MD i feel like my cheeks are fucking swolen as fuck.
fixed that by not chewing as much gum when on MD.
>>60601239
Yeah, I heard that even though a lot of people do it, chewing gum does not nescesarrily help you in any way.
I heard that if you take a certain vitamin like 1 hour before it's supposed to help, but I don't know of anyone who's done it.
>>60601271
that would be magnesium. doesn't stop clenching/grinding but definitely slows down the clencyness. alternatively just spread out your doses and don't get overwhelmed and take all of your md at once.
Why is the American underground scene so inclusive and fun loving but the Euro (especially UK) scene is a bunch of people standing around talking shit about the one guy dancing and how the DJ doesn't have the track Eq'd properly and how that one venue that shut down 5 years ago was so much better than this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FaguXmE57Y
gotta enjoy that lillördag
>>60597514
death grips - deep web
>>60599911
top #trigga as always
>>60601308
What a loaded and annoying question.
I think partly what makes the underground scene seem so exclusive and paranoid in europe is because we've seen what happens when the culture around a genre starts turning commercial and essentially sucks all the creative powers out of it because artists will start catering to the people who don't have respect for the roots of a genre and don't care much what happens to the community either.
With regards to the DJ-culture you're mentioning, it's pretty clear that you've never actually gone dancing in europe or you think BR = reality.
In the best clubs you will never ever see anyone talking shit about the way someone dances. Most places i've been it's quite frowned upon and if you do see someone standing still and talking smack about people dancing it's pretty normal for people to tell them to shut up or go away.
>>60601308
bcuz americans think that two and half men and the big bang theory are funny.
any dj man in?
bought cdjs and a mixer recently, saving up to get turntables. what are good alts. to 1210s?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ymt9XLbMms
>>60601308
I'm an ausfag who hasn't been to America but I have only had good experiences in the UK and the continent.
In the UK everyone just seems to get a little too fucked and have a ball with the lads. It could have just been where I went (Plastic People mostly but some warehouse/pop up things as well) but everyone was pretty chill and having fun.
Most people when I went out in Europe (France, Amsterdam, Denmark, Germany (Berlin)) where a little less fucked up but still pretty great. This is especially true in Berlin, ESPECIALLY as Berghain desu. Everyone was just down for a dance on the floor or a chat if you weren't.
The only place that was remotely reserved was in Poland but that was just during Unsound so it was probably because everyone who goes there is autistic.
>>60601308
Nobody talks shit about people dancing, it what you to the club for.
>>60601513
Just bought this mixer, and saving to get turntables as well.
Can't decide if I should get copies or actually spend the money needed for a pair of 1210's
Either way I want to hear if somebody knows what the best alternatives to them are as well.
>>60601513
yeah, but theres no way i can justify spending the kind of money you're talking about on doing it
What's the current internet meeting-grounds for /bleep/ producers? Like are there some popular forums for this sorta thing? i remember dubstepforum or w/e being a big one. But is there one big, central destination?
/r/edm sucks. i want to talk production with the underground Web-dwelling dance and electronic producers.
If this doesn't exist, I want to start it.
>>60601837
>one big, central destination
why would you want that lol
>>60601837
"the club"
>>60601871
I mean, just so these people can find others like them. I don't know where to go to talk to producers really, maybe there are some places
i know there's a /prod/ on /mu/, just looking for more /bleep/ and /club/ oriented.
>>60601874
precisely
>>60601925
Op again. I mean, I could just invade these threads with production talk. it wouldn't be that weird or averse to what the sub is for, right?
is this the hipster thread? i think it is thats why its only called bleep because u dont want anybody else who isnt in ur community entering this thread and finding ur obscure music right?
>>60601925
go to watmm if you're a big fat nerd
>>60601945
>"omg I have to make a slight effort to find the music these people listen to"
must be hipsters
yeah watmm's EKT forum is decent, but b warned you'll be amongst post-tuss idm/ceephax fanbois - but you won't be shut down for making /bleep/ tunes. the whole "IDMers HATE /bleep/" is just a meme
gearslutz too, maybe. haven't been there in a while. probably still mostly for ~40 year olds trying to be steve roach
>>60601945
Club music isn't built on essentials like most of the music /mu/ listens to.
Sure there's a couple classics, but no definitive list of releases to check off a list.
/bleep/ is built around taking initiative, not passively following other people.
>>60602002
>/bleep/ is built around taking initiative, not passively following other people.
is it /bleep/ to speak like a 'be your own boss' self help book lmao
>>60602010
I don't know, is it?
It's up to you to figure that out.
