No it doesn't, you just want to pretend to by all cyberpunk while liking your shitty hip-hop.
>>
>>60558725
Are you serious? Have actually listened too death grips? Their whole sound is digital manipulation and grimy synths
>>
>>60558744
I try not to, but the sound from what I recall when I was meme'd into listening to an album by him just doesn't sound like future sounds like you'd expect from a cyberpunk aesthetic. Sure it has synths and other digital stuff going on but that alone doesn't make it sound high tech or futuristic, or you might as well just make a general electronic list.

Plus GD is just bad.

Yet you put the Wipeout OST there which features Fluke. If you want to be lazy and include soundtracks might as well put this on the list.

there's more to cyberpunk than gritty anti-utopias
>>
>>60559205
There absolutely needs to be more recent industrial in there.

Typically Xentrifuge - Light Extinguished.
>>60559158
The big problem is that Deltron doesn't actually sound sci-fi at all.
>>
>>60559392
>there's more to cyberpunk than gritty anti-utopias
No there isn't. There's only different flavors of gritty dystopias. If you remove either the dystopian element or the grittiness, you end up with other forms of scifi.
>>
>science fiction dealing with future urban societies dominated by computer technology

>high tech and low life

most albums itt are not cyberpunk

it's not all in the aesthetics

>>60559364
not that anon, but death grips have at least one cyberpunk song on every album. the money store, no love deep web, government plates and jenny death could all be considered cyberpunk.

have in mind, however that cyberpunk doesn't really apply to music.
>>
>>60559463
>have in mind, however that cyberpunk doesn't really apply to music.

Yes it does. It's just called "industrial" instead of "cyberpunk".
>>
>>60559497
what about post-industrial then?

is that post-cyberpunk, smartass?

>inb4 post-industrial isn't a thing

>most albums itt are not cyberpunk
>it's not all in the aesthetics
Then post proper cyberpunk, beside dg
>>
http://youarelistening.to/
>>
>>60559518
Post-industrial doesn't exist, and neither does post-cyberpunk. Both are just labels invented by some idiots who had an arbitrarily narrow definition of the genre they were trying to overcome. As a result, there are many many various competing and strongly contradictory definitions of "post-industrial" and "post-cyberpunk" that are circulating among nerds and hipsters who are just trying to use this label and its progressivist undertones as a way to make their chosen works or music seem more avant-garde than the rest. Both terms carry no stable meaning except the nebulous idea that cyberpunk and industrial music are somehow a thing of the past without giving us a satisfying reason why that's the case.

That's all there is to it.
>>
>>60558867
>Oh shit, foetus
>But maybe some other album by him?

I think Nail is the most cyberpunk of his albums, it's like William Gibson in music form.
>>
>>60559585
No, Nail definitely has some industrial elements, but it's closer in tone to Natural Born Killers and all those zany horror-tinged thriller movies we got in the 90s about serial killers, that tried to emulate the creepy homemade aesthetic of industrial music and Dada art, and portray America as this old and worn-out place somehow stuck in the mid-XXth century.
>>
my own cyberpunk chart yo, not everything is strictly cyberpunk whatever that actually means
>>
>>60559668
nice EBM in there

but do give more recent EBM a try

>>
>>60559716

>>
>>60559744
Aggrotech isn't quite the same but yeah I guess you could also try to get into that. It's not any dumber than old-school EBM, really.

>>60559743

i'll give you an idea of what i consider to be cyberpunk out of those albums i have listened

(one album per artist)

generally, ebm often gets connected to cyberpunk culture, as well as synth punk, cybergrind and digital hardcore

>>
also, i forgot to add that most "cyberpunk" music is ugly and is usually detested by most /mu/tants who mostly seek nice, shiny aesthetics in everything

as an example of this, they would often call ebm music "cringeworthy". this also applies to atari teenage riot and death grips.
>>
also an example of cyberpunk in music

http://www.discogs.com/Normal-TVOD-Warm-Leatherette/release/2266

similar to liaisons dangereuses
>>
>>60559950
Naw it's nothing to do with DG's being "ugly" music, because ATR are great. DG's is just shit.

hmm i dont think confield is cyberpunk
cyberpunk is defined (in my head) as futuristic yet lo-fi(tech). confield is futuristic, but not lo-fi in any way. I imagine cyberpunks enjoying this music, but not making it.
