Stop being a sperg about it. Express your desire to smoke when they are doing a sesh, and your friends will understand that you are relenting your previous conviction against smoking, and willing to now participate. At that point, someone will pass it to you.
Hit it only once, one good hit, and pass it to the next guy. Don't just hold the hit in your mouth, breath it in. Ask them to explain the carb, if there is one.

synth pop/minimal synth if i'm in a good mood, relaxed techno or ambient if i just want to chill and not think.

The first few times I smoked I fucked up massively, ended up swallowing it all somehow and vomited every time, said I wasnt going to smoke because I couldnt. Few weeks later friends are smoking, I ask if I can try, friends help out. Chill out.
