Hey guys, I'm an album cover artist.
I was recently asked by Animal Collective to make an album cover for their new record that's coming in 2016, here's what I spewed up. They told me that they wanted a dog on it, and they wanted it to be weird/psychadelic
I tried my best, what do you guys think? I have an alternative cover that I'm finishing up in case this one is disliked, ill post it later.

I wouldn't either lel. Their cover art as a whole is really hit or miss. Some of that shit is so ugly (CHz original especially).
OP again, was just looking through my old shit I have made and found this one I was making for Bassnectar, he didn't use it

This would be excellent if you removed the second dog. It's repetition distracts from the other one. The top right dog being the only focal point on that nice cloudy surface would be pleasing to the eye. Good stuff.

I think so. Also perhaps try bluring or distortinv those semi transparent lines somehow. Their straightness is a tad out of place. But still that's a great album art. I'd listen to that for sure. How did you make the background?

Ohhh I know how about centering the lone dog just a tad more. Like near the middle of the box it's in but not too much. Like just a few nudges down and a few left. Maybe?

I photograph an image of a tie dye pattern that I made on some white fabric, then I brighten it a bit and overlay it in the background, along with some film grain. It gives a nice texture.
