I'm not her but a lot of these albums are just bands with a vague folk-esque influence.
A comparison would be having a jazz thread where 50%+ of the albums were nu jazz like nujabes and Mr scruff rather than actual jazz.
I put this down to the majority of /mu/ not knowing much folk and thinking anything slightly lofi with an acoustic guitar is folk.
