Why is it that the vast majority of artists are socialist or left wing politically, with a few exceptions of washed up old clowns like Ted Nugent and Gene Simmons?

Are creativity and political conservatism mutually exclusive?

They aren't. There are thousands of conservative artists, which is something you would know if you weren't a pretentious pseudointellectual.
>Are creativity and political conservatism mutually exclusive?
Possibly the dumbest question ever asked.

most likely
the creative mind, openness to new possibilities and most importantly the emotional literacy necessary to make art are incompatible with regressive/conservative politics

Admit it: by this point, you were just looking for liberal musicians in general.
>>60524909
Demonstrably false. Genius of any kind is largely independent of social, political, and economic standings.

lana del rey is a registered democrat but seems to take a traditional view on love and relationships

Because that's the artists that Jews love to propagandize and push onto the young generation.

I notice how you failed to demonstrate it

Ezra Pound was a literal fascist. Please stop posturing on a cantonese caricature network.

because artists are by nature empathetic.

People who lean to the right become managers and record executives instead because that's where the actual money is.
>>
Liberal people are on average more creative, and conservative people are on average more conscientious. So if you need someone to do some graphic design, find a liberal; if you need someone who can be a reliable and effective employee/manager/whatever, find a conservative.

And yet you're struggling like crazy to name one. It's an undeniable fact that the vast majority of artists are left wing, especially the good ones. If that's difficult for you to accept then I'm sorry.

All of the conservatives I know see any artistic or creative pursuit, or anything that doesn't immediately lead to a job, as useless. Don't learn guitar because it's not practical. Money matters most.

All of these lease a mini home in a suburb, work more than forty hours a week, drive a truck, are in bad shape, and hate immigrants. They listen exclusively to pop country and complain that everything sucks now.
>>
Being liberal is trendy. They get caught up in trying to do something important and they don't look at the bigger picture. Many of them don't understand basic political issues or economics, they just latch onto the idea of being a progressive. Don't get me wrong, liberals are right on social issues. They're incredibly wrong on fiscal policy though.

I've never met a conservative that was like this. I've met ones that say don't try to make a living making music and for the most part, that's excellent advice. The music industry is rough and only a few squeeze through the cracks.

The vast majority of art made prior to WW2 contains conservative sentiments. If you are artistically ignorant and have the need to lie about it on the internet, I'm sorry.
>>
>conservative
keeping things the same
>left wing
not keeping things the same

Speaking anecdotally, every single artist I know is left wing to some degree.

All right wing people I know see art as a "passtime" and are concerned with capital gain. All life pursuits that don't result in immediate and reliable money are useless to them.

Even the ones who spend a good deal of their free-time focused on music, are incredibly strict in what they believe constitutes "good" or "real" music. Tend to be dad-rockers, or sometimes obsessed with classical or jazz and dismiss all other forms of music.

I'd say there's probably some correlation, between the political spectrum and creativity, but nothing hard and fast. I'm sure there's established right-wing musicians who aren't country musicians. I'd have a hard time imagining anyone who makes art that challenges the status quo in any significant way being anything other than leftist. Conservatism is, in it's very nature, in support of the status quo.
