I just let iTunes organize it automatically, and then point foobar to my iTunes folder.

For a long time i kept it alphabetically, but at some point it became too big so i separated everything by genres/subgenres

By year.

I'm interested in this though. How specific do you make your genres? And what about music that hits multiple ones (like how noise and psychedelic rock are frequently together)?

>>60474844
Yes. I am mad. Absolutely mad.

Im not too strict about it, i listen to a lot of doom metal so i have atmosludge/sludge/stoner/drone/traditional in separate folders, and rock in math/post/noise but hip hop for instance in just one folder.
Just make it how it would seem organized to you.
>>60474844
No I'm not as long as you have your own library too, using spotify as part of a balanced diet is absolutely fine
This is the only correct answer.
Organize files automatically with MediaMonkey.

E:/Music/%albumartist%/%date%. %album%/%tracknumber%. %trackname%
>music library
%date%. %albumartist% - %album%
An album randomizer is a must too.
