What record are you most proud of owning?
this, without a doubt

Nice. How are your local record stores? The only one near me is pretty much just full of old ass country compilations and a bunch of dad rock like KISS and Boston. The owner is a really cool guy though and occasionally I find some good stuff.
I got a few
- Do Make Say Think - s/t
- Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
- Black Moth Super Rainbow & The Octopus Project - The House of Apples and Eyeballs
- I Am The Center boxset
- Rush self-titled boxset (because the record store I got it from were sent too many and I got it for $15)

Original CD issue, I can't even find any for sale online right now
>My top 5
Venetian Snares - Rossz Csillag Alatt Szuletett
Colour Haze - Self Titled
Bjork - Vespertine
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun
the only vinyl I own is Richard Pryor's Bicentennial Nigger, I bought it at a garage sale purely based on the name. I don't even own a record player. I used to have it displayed on a shelf, but I took it down after a black friend started acting weird around me after I took her to my place

that's god damn sexy, anon
This desu

I got Ten Songs For Another World by World of Skin too. There's an original copy of Children of God for sale at Amoeba right now for 25 dollars that I've been eyeballing, but I don't know if I wanna put in that kind of money
They're all listed for 45 online. I might do it next time I go

Electric Mud - Black Version
Come my Fanatics...Electric Wizard
Public Castration
PLAY AT MAXIMUM VOLUME
This
You've probably never heard of it
BANGER
And my copy of JPSE - Size Of Food
Original pressing of Loveless, one of my favorite albums ever. I scalped it off some dude in a garage sale for $10. It's still in mint condition, it's strictly for viewing pleasure. When and if they reissue it, I'll buy a play copy then.

That's fucking hot
Any local bands i grabbed up from when i was going to shows as a teenager. Spinning those always takes me back to an easier time.
This baby. Bought literally the last one available online for the original price. First record I bought for myself
>>60473226
Why would you buy this?
Look how many tracks they cut onto a single vinyl disc, it's useless.
>>60473166
damn. are you in the US or UK?
This
>>60473255
US, down by the Bible belt. Amazed anyone here even listened to MBV.
>>60473258
Wow I hate you
>>60473258
I like this
>being proud of owning music in an archaic format purely for image
>>60470993
im a complete vinyl amateur, but its this live genesis album that says that its printed in west germany. will take a pic when i come home
>>60473247
it's 38 minutes, what's your point?
>>60473267
>Amazed anyone here even listened to MBV
did I just read this? Loveless is /mu/core anon
>>60473368
The point is that it's really inconvenient to mix with.
Look at something like GoD, which technically isn't even a club record and it's still cut onto two discs at 45rpm.

i live in sydney, with a lot of record stores, it's almost a trouble to decide which ones to go to
one i like has a really good jazz section, always putting out new stuff - i get a lot of spiritual jazz stuff from them
one has a lot of aussie stuff, but i don't really go out of my way since i normally stop at the store above which is on the way there
one is really small but the owner is a bro, has a great selection of new and used stuff at great prices - really well curated, i'd buy the whole store if i could
one is good for newer dance music, mostly house, and reissues of soul/funk/afro stuff
one, where i bought organic music society from, is also quite small but amazingly curated, owner is a great dude as well, lots of avant stuff - kosmiche, free jazz, soundtracks, other experimental music
i'm lucky to live here!

ok kid
Bob Dylan- The "Royal Albert Hall" Concert
Got the vinyl for 60 bucks after I got my biggest paycheck ever. Now it goes for around $300. I got lucky.
Plus it's one of the best live albums ever so
I'm about to buy the original The Mollusk LP for $25
>>60472865
Is it the reissue? That's fucking easy to find, i've seen it in normal stores, not even record stores.
>>60473416
I'm 24 mate.
>>60473389
Dude I'm not a DJ... I have a lot of electronic music in vinyl simply because I like it. This is another of my favourites in my collection, more DJ oriented, granted, but that isn't the reason I bought it

please don't by limited runs, otherwise people who are actually using them won't get a chance.
>>60473430
That's even worse.
>>60473389
>The point is that it's really inconvenient to mix with
what are you talking about?
people have been playing clubs in lps for years, i do it myself, all you need a disc stabilizer, you can cop an audio technica one for cheap
Lumpy Gravy 1st edition.
>>60473422
Negro, that's a good investment. About to pull that trigger myself.
I don't put stock in cultural capital, but good on you for perpetuating the Hipster metameme.
>>60473530
ok kid
>>60473530
You're so cool, anon. I wish i couldn't enjoy things, except for refusing to enjoy things, just like you.
>>60473530
This man gets it. Fight the power brother.
This is without of doubt of the weirdest records i have. It's some really heavy psychedelic acid-rock, recorded in '71 by some obscure swedish hippie. this shit is so ethereal, i actually get high just from listening to it.
>>60473693
Sounds interesting, maybe i'll give it a try
