Pygmalion has a much more experimental and almost transcendent (for lack of a better word) atmosphere and is much more intricate and intentional. However of all their albums I feel like Souvlaki has the strongest songs and probably the most emotionally pulling material. This said, though, in terms of the format of what have been the best albums across the mid 20th century, Just for a Day fits this structure. Plus it has an energy that none of their other releases ever really quite captures.
And this doesn't even include their unreleased material, which is absolutely stellar (pic related).
I did a shitty job explaining this but I really feel like any of their stuff could have a case made for being their best.
