Slowdive felt like rich kids copying the shoegaze sound because they had a lot of money. MBV came from a more genuine place.
At their peak, maybe. After Pygmalion, though Slowdive and the bands that came out of it were shit, whereas MBV came out with, well, mbv.

Curve's version of the wall of sound is so much better. Toni Halliday could sing rings around Goswell and Butcher. Dean Garcia is a master musician who has worked with so many different artists I've lost count. They made the blueprint for a lot of female fronted bands that followed. To dismiss them as "kek literally the worst '90s shoegaze band" or even worse "Madonna with reverb and a drum machine" tells me you have never bothered to listen to them.
