the man behind yeezus. so good.
>>60453508
the singles/released tracks werent that good
Yeezus with just Arca production would have been interesting though
Lotic better desu
Craziest producer
It's a great album, but I think he got beat out by Ash Koosha this year.
>>60453508
funny thing is arca kinda hates being known for yeezus and continues to get far awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay from that sound as much as possible
been loving the shit he's been doing with dean blunt. and mutant is great much better then xen
Arca is a glorified movie soundtrack maker
Can't write a song for shit
>>60453508
top 6 albums this year
>>60454261
what?!
thats ash kitscha
>>60454764
not a good joke, i dont know if you can do better
>>60453508
>the man behind yeezus. so good.
he's overhyped garbage tbhfam
He produced 2 songs on Yeezus relax
320 mega where?
>>60455124
at me house
come at me bro
It's not that good to be honest. Nothing feels fleshed out and it goes for way too long. If you like shit constantly being thrown at you with no rhyme or reason go ahead and enjoy it.
>>60455141

bu5 first you v got to find the archive
Lots of boring tracks on this album and his songwriting sucks.
>>60455272

>>60455371
>faggot
it was a necessary introduction to the plasma of soichiro
>peonies
ending theme of the album, skippable but also arca's signature
>vanity
one of the better tracks
>sinner
skippable
>anger
one of the better tracks
>sever
skippable
>extent
finale of the en-siren-extent triptych, one of the most atmospheric tracks, reminiscent of eno and new age, but contemporised to fit in with the post-internet age
>umbilical
don't quite remember the track, was it the one with lots of bleeps? i guess it wasn't boring after all.
finaly, i think its highs place it in the top of 2015 electronica.
>>60455371
incorrect
>>60453508
>so good.
"no"
I found Xen disappointing but Mutant is good.
>>60453508
>behind yeezus
What? I could hear his style on Vulnicura and the FKA twigs he worked on and I liked it quite a bit, but wasn't impressed by Yeezus at all.
>>60454283
>funny thing is arca kinda hates being known for yeezus and continues to get far awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay from that sound as much as possible
Okay, makes sense.
This is a bit too abstract for me. For an album that's over an hour long I really need at least a thread of structure to keep me interested. I've only had one listen so far but there wasn't much that made me feel like I was getting parts of a whole, just an hour of different weird sounds collected together and put in sequence.
>>60456357
>>60455272
>>60455219
i think ya'll are just bad listeners honestly
>>60456403
actually, he did some very small details on four songs
he did not fully produce them by any means
he is not "behind" yeezus. the only person behind yeezus is kanye.
>>60455371
>>60455582
but guys sever is my favourite track
For me he was the equivalent of a divine being back in 2012. Stretch 2 felt like nothing else and subsequent release of &&&&& cemented my opinion.
And then Xen came out and I was a bit disappointed by it, took me a few months to appreciate his debut album. Mutant though was again love at first sight.
Anybody else feels the same about his first eps/mixtapes?
>>60455397
thanks friend
Why did this garbage get best new music on pitchfork? It's like nothing is good unless it's unlistenable schizophrenic avant garde garbage like Garden of Delete.
>>60458327
&&&&& wasn't AS emotional as Xen. &&&&& was just an exhibition of bold production techniques with cut-edge unusual beats. Xen was when it all turned to meat, with its conceptual development. Mutant is a continuation of that in my opinion.
>>60459565
>>60458327
Most pretentious on /mu/
>>60458999
p4k is shit friend
did you read the actual review?
it isn't worth the music it reviews. they even rated it same as xen.
>>60458999
>garden of delete
>unlistenable
>>60453508
stretch 2 and &&&&& were his best imo, wish he'd go back to hip hop
I'll give him another shot, I loved Vulnicura and Yeezus but Xen didn't move me at all, it seemed he was doing all his best work for others.
I'll be happy if I'm mistaken.
>>60458999
>unlistenable schizophrenic avant garde garbage
>like Garden of Delete
Are people this pleb allowed on /mu/ ?
>>60460099
it's an album that strikes you as emotional after a few listens
at first you'd think its only highlight is thievery and its point is the dancy reggeaton-influenced stuff
but then you start noticing its actually a soundtrack to your visit to darkened museum with the exponates from your future
take sisters for example, its like two sisters from medieval dancing a waltz in that very museum
listening now, sounds like OPN but not nearly as good as OPN
>>60460147
Do you enjoy pitchforks' cock up your arse?

not very cohesive, really enjoyed sheep more than the overall project
arca is so fucking bland and this album is no exception. belongs with flying lotus, rustie, actress and all the other over-hyped, forgettable producers from the last decade
>>60461580
except FlyLo and Actress are actually really good. but yeah Arca is a major biter.
>>60461580

it's a pop album man. there are catchy melodies on every track. listen to more music before you start commenting on /mu/
