What's the most expensive record you've seen in person at a shop?
Most I've seen was $500 for The Supremes' debut LP with the original cover depicting the members on bar stools, which Motown quickly pulled and replaced with a new cover for some reason.
Runner-up.

Do you know how to tell if you got a covered butcher block?

Ringo's sweater.
I worked at a record store where my boss appraised one of these...

That was the plot of a That '80s Show episode.
Once I saw a box set of Pat Boone's complete 50's recordings for over 400 bucks, but that's a shit-ton of music.
>>60388100
That's pretty cheap for one, must have been in ratty condition.
>>60388126
yep
>>60388128
me too, thats how I learned. Thank god he got to the 2 we had in storage before I did.
>>60388098
I saw an original pressing of that for like 20 a few months ago at a half price actually
>>60388153
I can't attest to the accuracy of his pricing but it was in excellent condition. Maybe its because this was about 20 years ago
1989 for about $70
I wouldn't buy it anyway but still, what a jip.
>>60388160
>And you didn't buy it
>>60388182
Christ, that's worse than Record Store Day shit.
>>60388160
are you sure? its very easy to confuse pressings
At my old favourite record store they had some Sex Pistols release for $250. Think it was coloured vinyl or a picture disc.

>a half price
half price books? I've taken them to the cleaners on comic books and movies but thats it.
I don't browse record stores much on accont of not owning a turntable but in one local one I found some rare Whitehouse live album for like $180
>>60388213
You're right, it was probably just an old one. Not really a fan so I didn't bother looking into it too much and I'm certainly not a fan of selling records on the internet either
>>60388334
and hell these days the employees can probably just scan the barcode to find the right price. the dvd game is definitely gone from most places which is almost certainly because of this.

>replaced with a new cover for some reason
You mean this one?
