I love Devo's first, punky album but I'm pretty lukewarm towards all the slicker pop-funk stuff they did after that. Can someone recommend me a band or bands that have that kind of weird robotic/alien energy of Devo's first album?
I already know The Coneheads and love them - more like that please.
I think early Devo is sort of like the Residents.
Polysics, if you don't mind Japanese stuff.
Human Eye maybe?

Early Devo is cool but it's what people would consider "prime" Devo who make me feel warm und fuzzy inside.

did you hear about them from Evan Minsker/Shake Appeal?
