How many albums the good people of /mu/ listen to per day?
>>

>>
Who listens to albums anymore?

Everything's on YouTube

this
>>
>>60355009
About 15 a day
Thank god i have a job that allows me to listen to music basically all day
>>
>>60355053
no it's not
>>
15-25. I don't know how people can listen to 2 or 3 albums a day and say they're into music. Ohhhh I love music, look at my dinky 60gb folder of pitchfork shit. Idiots.
>>
On weekends, 10 or so.

On normal days, i would say that i listen to 2~4
>>
>>60355099
Everything worth listening to
>>
Don't know how much albums, but I usually listen to 10 hours of music on week days and 15 on weekends.
>>
>not listening to 24+ albums a day

kekking at all the plebs in this thread
>>
I'm on my computer all day so I'm listening to music for about 21 hours a day and sleep for 3 hours. I suck at math so I'm just going to say each album lasts a hour, that's 21 albums. Not bad.
>>
>>60355144
What do you even listen to? No-lyric music? Otherwise I don't get how your brain wouldn't turn to mush.
>>
do
>>
>people in this thread getting baited this hard
>>
I haven't listened to any albums recently because I've been too busy playing Fallout

don't know why i came here today desu
>>
4-5
>>
Average 5 a day senpai
>>
2-4 depending on the work
>>
however many im in the mood for desu
>>
Usually from monday to friday I listen to about 30 albums per day, but on the weekend and holidays I might listen easily over 50 albums per day
>>
I try to listen to at least 4 a day.

I'm a really busy guy, I have college, work and other interests I pursue. It's all I really have time for
>>
10 a day if I don't have work senpai
>>
>>60356594
bro do you sleep
>>
around 30-40 a day, much more on weekends
>>
How the fuck do people listen to 50 albums a day considering most albums are 45 minutes to an hour
>>
>>60356594
someone likes grindcore
>>
>>60356632
they don't sleep because it's for the weak
>>
I only get in about 20-25 during the week because of work, and I record on the weekends.

So probably about 110 a week or so.
>>
>people who 'listen' to an album and then just immediately move on to the next like it's some routine

lol
>>
>>60356729
Through practice I've been able to condense post-album reflection to 4-5 minutes. I keep notes while listening on a word file I have.
>>
I listen to albums all day at work, so that's like 8-16 depending on the length of each. I mostly stick to albums I already know though, I don't like listening to new albums while I work because I can't focus on the music.
>>
>>60356729
/mu/ is more about consumption than appreciation. why do you think "essentials" charts have 70+ albums on them?
>>
>>60355106
lol, calm down buddy
>>
i listen to and digest about 10 songs per day, any more would be overkill, u ppl need to learn to appreciate moderation and balance
>>
>>60356632
actually, I myself, like to listen to about, I don't know.. like 9000 albums per day or so. It's not that hard after you've become the master of listening to albums, you have no idea of how fast you can actually listen to album if you master the technique well.. I once listened to Swans - To Be Kind in just under 10 minutes, and I'm not even kidding! Just keep practicing, bro. You can do it, if you just believe in yourself.
>>
>>60355009
at the very most, just 1. Can't handle more.
>>
probably in the realm of 10, although there's repeat (I'll usually listen to the same album walking to work as walking back). Used to be more but I changed jobs and have to be in meetings all the time now so listening time got cut down.
>>
my brain is actually more developed than that of the average human so i listen to 10 albums a day at 2x speed, sometimes at 2,5x if i'm feeling cocky.
>>
like 1 and then i just listen to single songs
>>
>>60356729
>>60356777
These. I listen to around 5 albums a day, and maybe 5-10 new albums in a week.

I rarely listen to full albums front to back.
>>
At a minimum? 15.

Pretty embarrassing, but I take breaks. Honestly if you're doing less than 5 I don't know why you post here.
>>
>>60357477
This is what I do. I like listening to stuff that I already have, and often do, but I also listen to new stuff that I haven't heard before frequently.

I can't listen to an album just once and move on. I'd hardly call myself a fan of an artist if I did that.
>>
i find that i appreciate songs more if i am just listening to it out of the albums context
>>
I have no idea what these guys saying they're listening to 20 albums a day are talking about. There are only five hours in a day so it's literally impossible.

I listen to half a song a day then spend the rest of it crying about how deep an experience I just had. Also I don't have a what.cd account, but I'm pretty proud of my 100 gb library.
>>
>>60357497
Smh senpai desu
>>60357557
>There are only five hours in a day
Wut

I probably get ~10 albums a day in.
I listen to music at any point in my day that I can.
Always look forward to riding the bus or walking somewhere for that reason.
>>
0 because im not a rockist
>>
>>60357525
I just think of how many hours, days, even years they put into making it. It's a disservice to just listen once and discard. It's the kind of thing you do when you care more about showing others all the cool stuff you've been listening to instead of actually taking it in.
>>
>1 album a day
>5 albums a day

this is why you people have backlogs
>>
82
>>
>if you read a book a day you are basically illiterate

this is how some of you casuals sound right now
>>
>>60357711
>casuals
Aren't you more of a casual if you're half-listening to 20 albums you didn't pay for in a day and then forgetting about them?
>>
0.2
>>
>>60355058
What kind of job would that be? Do you work at a record store?
>>
>>60355106
This post is so /mu/
>>
>>60357748
>he listens to more music than me
>he must not understand it

I mean that's cool and all but you guys don't have to feign disbelief when you find out some of us listen to the music we download.
>>
>>60357748
I think his point is the opposite, listening to a bunch of albums a day and thinking it makes you patrician is what makes you a casual, similar to thinking you have to read multiple books a day in order to be literate.
>>
>>60355009
I listen to songs more than albums, that doesn't mean I don't listen to entire albums.
>>
>>60357831
I thought reading a whole book in one day was a lot. Maybe I'm just slow with everything...
>>
>>60355053
yeah, i listen to full albums with tracklists on youtube
>>
Can someone who claims listening to 15-20+ albums a day post his/her last.fm or top50/100 chart?? pretty curious

I listen to 10-15 MAX in a day where i'm actively trying to look for new music/have a day off and just want to listen to music

on a normal day I listen to 2-5
>>
>>60357903
Right, right, that's the point. If you're reading a book in a day or less then you're either speed reading (not really appreciating it) or reading phonics or some shit. Likewise if you listen to a ton of albums a day you're probably not really appreciating or engaging with them, you're probably just like working or whatever while you listen, which is fine but it's not the same as critically listening.
>>
>>60355009
Very rarely listen to albums anymore. Used to be the only way I'd do it, and I'd probably listen to at least 10 a day. More recently though I listen to mixes and playlists a lot more
>>
>>60357970
I see. I think I just read the original comment wrong desu senpai
>>
>>60357970
>all this self-serving explanation

whatever makes you feel better

>I think going to a good college proves you're the true slow thinker because it proves you need to go to a good college in order to not think so slow
>>
>>60357403
kek
>>
Usually 2-4, 6-8 on a really good day
>>
>>60358065
If someone told you they read war and peace in a day do you think they really would have absorbed it as well as if they had read it in a more reasonable timeframe?

There are probably servants who can do this but the reality is that for most people engaging with material means taking your time.

>>I think going to a good college proves you're the true slow thinker because it proves you need to go to a good college in order to not think so slow

What does that even mean?
>>
>>60357970
Yeah but you can't rush an album like you can rush a book. You can't make yourself listen more quickly. You're not necessarily rushing an album if you play another shortly after
>>
1 New álbum every Week Once a day
>>
>>60358156
Only if you're a pleb.
>>
>>60358154
>If someone told you they read war and peace in a day do you think they really would have absorbed it as well as if they had read it in a more reasonable timeframe?

Shut up you're confusing the peasants with your logical thoughts.
>>
>>60358156
True, but you can listen to an album while you're mentally occupied with something else, which is probably what's happening with people who are saying they listen to 20 albums a day (I mean I guess you could just be a jobless bum who spends their entire day listening to music not doing much else but it seems unlikely).

I listen to music while working all the time and it's nice but it's not the same as laying down with headphones and an album or whatever.
>>
2-3 albums every day on my way to uni and back home
0 on weekend
>>
>>60358154

All I can do is apologize for hurting your feelings. Take your time with your music. Go as slowly as you want. You'll get there.

>>60358254

>peasants
>"I'm not a peasant because I listen to two albums a day! They're the peasants, yeah! I'll show them! I'll call THEM peasants and turn the tables!"

Look just go at your own pace. It's okay. No one expects you to try to outdo yourself and strain your brain.
>>
So far today I've done 12 albums. That's a lot, though. I don't usually get in more than 15.
>>
>>60358527
>All I can do is apologize for hurting your feelings
you should apologize for that nasty cut I just got from all that edginess as well.

2 or 3 average but it can range to like 8 depending on how much free time I've got
>>
>>60358595

Edgy works. It's a lot better than that sad-sack "you're the real pleb!" shit you guys were doing before.
>>
>>60358675
I'm more referring to the microeconomic concept, but whatever. My point is, you only have so much dopamine.

I'm not even memein'. I listen to millions of albums at once to optimize listening time.

You mean

>I "listen" to 20 albums a day that I really have no appreciation for and instead use as auditory decoration while busy with other tasks.
>>
>>60355009
usually like 5 billion a second
>>
>>60355106
LMAO were you raped as a child or something

memes aside, 3-6 on weekdays, less on weekends

>not doing shit on weekends
>>
>>60359089
