Drums (haven't played in a few months due to not owning a kit, but meh to decent)

>>
Started playing piano last week, I'm practicing an hour every day.

Am I going to make it?
>>

>Am I going to make it?
of course not
>>
>>60330882
At that rate, if you kept up that 1 hour every day, you'll master the piano in just over 27 years.

Have fun

Does that imply that If instead, it were 3h/day I'd make it in 9 years?

How far do you want to get with it? How old are you? And what genre do you want to play? An hour a day can get you surprisingly far but it won't take you to virtuoso status
>>
>>60330972
fucking seruous;y?

theres nothing wrong with going to nite school
>>
Clarinet (Pretty damn good [State-level])
Guitar (Decent [I'm able to play Dear Prudence and Blackbird pretty well])
Xylophone (Learning by ear, but can't play classical or anything)
Other instruments I've played before but don't "play": ukulele, drums, bass guitar

Mastering an instrument and being really good at it are two different things. You'll be pretty good in 4-5 years if you do an hour a day. If you WANT to master it, you've gotta put all you got into that piano, but don't get discouraged by how long it would take. Just keep on practicing, and it will show.

Been playing the clarinet family since I was 10, though mainly the contralto and bass clarinet. Looking to become a freelance musician.

I'm 19. I just want to be able to improvise, and then later on maybe play at jazz lounges or join a band or something. I don't know. I just wanna be able to play music that sounds good.
>>
Trombone - pretty damn good, might even get into my city's orchestra
Piano - decent. Isn't much fun for me
Tuba - decent. Never put much time into it
Guitar - decent. Trying to get better
Bass - good. I just like it more than guitar
Drums - shit. I have the worse time with it
Sax - below average. I tried it a little back in high school
Singing - meh. I hit the pitches, but I hate the sound of my voice
Trumpet - lok right

Played trombone in school band but lost interest after a year and never bothered to practice so yeah I suck

Now I'm learning how to play the ukulele.

How do I read tabs like pic related?
>>
>>60331075
I just put my fingers where the dots are, and where they most feel comfortable. Vertical lines are strings, Horizontal lines are frets.

19 isn't a bad age to start, especially if you already have some background in music.

If you want to learn to improvise, the first step is tedious but essential--learn all your scales, chords, and chord inversions. When you have those down you'll have set the foundation you need for improvisation. It's rote work but absolutely necessary for what you want to do, there's no way around it.
>>
>>60331139
I know how to read Chord boxes but I don't know how to play the chords hanging above the lyrics. There's no strum pattern.

Thanks for ur help anyway kind anon
