I used to shit on this album all the time, for years.
Decided to give it another go a month ago, man I was so fucking wrong.
This album hits hard and is so fucking catchy. Tons of cool details sewed in from the production too.
A few poor tracks, but most are fantastic.
I might be a tad too old to relate, but this album gives me feelings of nostalgia few albums can do.
I fucking love this album. I'm sorry for shitting on it for the past few years.

The singer Mike Kinsella formed a solo project after AF split under the name Owen. Its more acoustic and instrumental but man is it fucking killer. I listen to his discography before bed every night.

Most definitely. His older releases have much more passion like (the ep), no good for no one now and i do perceive. All his work is great, he even does a version of never meant on one of his older splits.

It's really a melody record imo. If you're digging into the lyrics too much you're missing out on more than half the record because they don't say much. It's a very shy, sweet and reclusive record, a characteristic I don't find in a lot of emo music as most bands tend to be more obvious with emo lyrics
