"It has been a long time" edition

Now I know I'm the only one making these, lost the link to the latest thread though.

Post your compositions, be it classical, pop, rock or whatever. This is non-technical side of prod more or less, but usually it is mostly classical, but don't be afraid to post whatever.

Post and try to help and critique other works!

Guitar pro file incoming.

Section labeled Ab is going to be an improv section so that's why it's blank.

Do you have some sound file to put it on clyp.it?
>>
You should listen to DJ Arch Jnr
>>
>>60300240
I don't know what that is. Also, you can look into a GP file and break it down a little. Lot's of editors notes in there.

Tbh I feel kinda sorry for the kid.

Just a website where you can easily upload sound files.

Btw I have one of my recent ones:

huh, I can't decide whether it sounds like bach played on 1.25x speed or some cozy tavern music in an rpg. It's really neat though anon

>>60301120
Not a whole lot of composition going on actually. Maybe it's intended, but you can make it a bit more interesting with some progression.
It sounds alright though anon, keep it up! You can also try and visit a /prod/ thread and ask about recording and mastering advice if you wanna take it further.

Yeah I turned the speed up and put some "Asian keys". Sounded interesting. I would say I really got the Bach sound, I made a couple of these and honestly every time I am happier and prouder of each one as I go. The downside is that this one is quite short, but I think it is better for it to be short than me trying to force fill it and then ruining it.
Thank you for the feedback, I greatly appreciate it man.

I'd love someone to be able to identify these chords for me, at least the intro it's too complicated for me, some diminished shit going on

Something like a B half-diminished seventh (without a D, and with the B in the bass stepping downward) followed by a G# "fully" diminished seventh (which may or may not actually contain a B, but which definitely doesn't actually contain a D). Here the bass and the "melody"(?) both move to E, turning it into an implied E dominant seventh (because the "melody" then steps down to D) chord. Because it's an E dominant seventh chord the bass jumps to A, the root of what E Dom7 resolves to. But instead of A minor (or major or whathaveyou) the chord that plays here is A half-diminished seventh (without C, though the melody soon rectifies that). The melody jumps down a perfect fifth from G and arpeggiates the next chord, an F# fully diminished seventh (and here the melody and bass do similar things to what they did with the G# fully diminished seventh).

So basically:
B halfdim7
G# dim7
A halfdim7
F# dim7

It's a sequential harmonic progression.

I haven't closely listened to the next chord because I'm in a hurry to post before the thread dies, but I'm willing to bet it's an F half diminished seventh.

Thanks that's a good starting point, I might try a midi conversion on ableton too and see if it's accurate

I just realised you can make quintuplets (and whatever the 7, 9 etc versions are) in GP6 so I've been experimenting. Those 7 ones would be a bitch to try and count/play.

No problem. A slight correction: I meant to say "I'm willing to bet it's a G half-diminished seventh". I made the mistake because the most prominent note (the melody) is an F.

Seriously, though, this was tough to figure out.
