Holy shit, I did not expect on liking this.
Have you heard Spirit of Eden?
>>60293032
what made you think you wouldn't like it
Now listen to Bark Psychosis - Hex
Hello I listen to music and I start with the last album of an universally acclaimed band just to get surprised ehehehe
>>60293062
The no doubt song and the fact I'm not the biggest fan of post rock
>>60293075
Naaah, listen to Mark Hollis' s/t (GOAT) and 'O' Rang's Herd of Instinct. Hex is good but those two are far superior. Unless you haven't heard Spirit of Eden.
>>60293091
That song is awesome though.
Also Spirit of Eden is the superior album.
>>60293091
>The no doubt song
shit cover but a good song
>I'm not the biggest fan of post rock
what have you listened to before this?
>>60293075
Why would you want to listen to a lesser ripoff?
>>60293094
>'O' Rang's Herd of Instinct
Fields and Waves is better.
>>60293157
Right. Herd of Instinct is the overlooked spiritual follow up anyway, made by previous members of Talk Talk and with a really cool world music influence to boot which makes it unique.
>>60293173
Respectfully disagree
>>60293115
Mogwai, Battles, and Sigur Ros, don't like them desu
>>60293212
I guess you dislike second wave stuff
and Battles aren't actually post-rock
check out Tortoise's Millions Now Living Will Never Die and Slowdive's Pygmalion
they're pretty good post-rock albums
>>60293234
I know post rock is split up into waves, what exactly are the difference between them though?
>>60293274
this is based on what I have listened to and what I've heard people say (I haven't really listened to any 3rd wave albums)
1st: more original and better
2nd: more derivative and more focus on crescendos
3rd: very derivative and a lot of focus on crescendos hence the name crescendocore
>>60293032
Holy shit, I did not expect on liking this.
>>60293274
>>60293318
Post Rock basically started at its peak with Spirit of Eden and this album and went down hill from there.
>>60293032
Hey, I'd just like to remind you that you fucked up your post and don't know the English language well enough. You should have written "Holy shit, I did not expect to like this." Maybe next time you won't make yourself look like an underage retard.
>>60293349
He also saved the pic as Laughing Stalk.
>>60293349
You should have thought "OP probably speaks English as a second or even third language, and doesn't have a complete grasp on grammar yet". Maybe next time you won't make yourself look like an ignorant asshole
>>60293349
language is subjective man who cares..
>>60293492
Wittgenstein does
>>60293510
There is so much philosophy on /mu/ today. I like it.
>>60293337
laffin stack is better though
>>60293533
Just wait. The grimes/jonathan mathis/jason aldean "fans" will be back.
>>60293660
I did say 'and this album'.
>>60293660
It's not, you're just suffering its overexposure on this board
>>60293862
How fucking pleb would you have to be not to have heard both and formed your own opinion before you even got on /mu/?
>>60293094
Mark Hollis S/T is the best of his work I'd say . More subdued and uplifting.
>>60293862
Nah, it's better.
>>60293807
Dont group Grimes and Jonathan Mathis in with Jason Aldean they make legitimate music fuck you and your stupid "its a meme" meme
>>60293862
>>60294214
Oh, and Mark Hollis s/t is better than both.
>>60294233
Im on board except for one thing
>grimes
>legitimate music
>>60293807
anon was right :0
>>60294247
Im listening to it rn, it's pretty good but still doesnt come close to them.
Mark Hollis sure knew how to make an harmonica sound amazing tho
>>60293318
can you give me examples of second wave and third wave bands? Usually I can't tell the difference
>>60295614
>>60295661
thanks based anon
