you can't label every band that gets attention as gay shitty popular music. there's some good music that gets deserved attention. theres also some good music that gets little to no attention. i mean bands like arcade fire, interpol, the strokes, modest mouse, vampire weekend theyre all popular, but for a good reason.
bands like Built to Spill, Sunny Day Real Estate, Hum, and Broken Social Scene are awesome even though they dont get as much success.
