Dropped Pianos or Ravedeath
Radio Amor is pretty godlike too
IDK d e s u he makes a lot of good music

Ravedeath
1. Ravedeath
2. Radio Amor
3. Haunt Me
Radio Amor is his best, followed by Ravedeath. Virgins is for "ambient is too boring for me" kids though.
yea, i was gonna post this with the ravedeath cover but couldn't find the file quick enough

yea, i was gonna post this with the ravedeath cover but couldn't find the file quick enough (i fucked up the reply. sorry)
TIM HECKER THREAD? YES
Mirages. Kaito + Balkanize-You is the most powerful double song I've heard in my life.
But I love almost everything the guy has created, no doubt he'll be considered a musical genius 80 years from now.
Ravedeath or Dropped Pianos
I really connected with this one last winter.
It / Ravedeath / Virgins are all pretty on par though depending on the day.
>>60291449
also my favourite, just before ravedeath and Radio Amor.
Still have to listen to virgins
>>60291452
Still have to listen to Radio Amor myself. I've heard / love I'm Transmitting Tonight though
>>60291470
Not that guy, but just a heads up, Radio Amor is a bit different from other Hecker albums. Actually it's a bit like Ravedeath in that it follows a certain context (song titles for example, or the way the music span out)
Why do so many people like Ravedeath as their favorite?
The beginning and end tracks are incredible but many songs in the middle are just meh.
I think Haunt Me and Imaginary Country are better.
>>60291478
I'm excited to give it a listen!
>>60291485
It's like being caught in a thick fog. At first, I didn't like it's intangibility, but after spending more time with it, that's what I began to love about it.
I love middle tracks like No Drums, and Hatred of Music I & II, I think they're actually quite melodious and gut wrenching.
Imaginary and Haunt Me are actually my least favorite :P, but it's possible we're just just drawn to different things in his music

Fuck he's sooo good
Nobody ever mentions this album, I loved it.
1) ravedeath
2) radio amor
3) virgins
4) imaginary country/harmony/dropped pianos
5) haunt me, mirages

That release is a bit patchy in consistency and quality but this song from it is one of the best of the decade:

>tfw Lawrence English said I had a cool jacket once
Radio Amor is objectively the GOAT
>>60292122
Yeah that song is so intense, fantastic choice
>>60292041
How legit is this chart?
Radio Amor > Ravedeath > Harmony In Ultraviolet > Haunt Me Do It Again > Virgins > Mirages >> An Imaginary Country
I only listened to virgins, and I really have to be in the mood for it.
>>60292122
Tim Hecker did an album with Oneothrix Point Never?!
WHAT
>>60292167
You're always in the mood to be one tho :^)
>>60292168
I dunno how nerds still don't know this smfh have you literally only been listening to OPN since 2013?
>>60292172
;_;
>>60292153
pretty legitimate; though I feel links to Infinite Body and Daniel Lopatin should've been included
>Virgins came out in 2013
New album when? I need it.
>>60292260
I expected him going full glitch techno on this next one. There are glimpses of it in Virgins and the collab with OPN.
>>60292283
His techno ended with Jetone
>>60292176
I've been listening to OPN since 2010 and i just realized this a month ago.
Don't know how this went over my head desu
I really wanna hear him collar with ben frost or even gira. His style doesn't feel like ambient as much as it could be percussionless pop or electronic, which is really cool.
>>60292375
To be fair, the album got criminally little hype when it was released. It was also released in a year packed with a ton of significant electronic records.
>>60290930
this isn't even music but i liked virgins the most because anthony fantano said it was the album of the year
>>60292395
>I really wanna hear him collar with ben frost
He already did on Virgins
>>60290930
The one you posted, Harmony in Ultraviolet its really good as well.
Speaking of related projects: Oren Ambarchis new album is really good
Genuinely think Hecker is a musical genius based on his wide range of sounds and strong conceptual ability alone. Easily my split as my favorite artist between Hecker and Autechre,
Just because I'm austitic and like seeing rankings:
Ravedeath = Virgins > Radio Amor > Harmony in Ultraviolet > Haunt me >> An Imaginary Country > Mirages
Ravedeath and Virgins are works of pure genius in my opinion. Can't wait to see what he has up his sleeves for 2016 (Assuming he follows the same release pattern).
