My room-mate is basically in love with these guys, he recommended i listen to some of their older stuff. I'm into rock, and sweet guitar matched with great vocals, so are they worth the time to check out?

listen to the first four albums. Each one has 2 or 3 god-tier tracks. The fourth one maybe has 1 or 2. Their fifth album is garbage tho desu. The fame went to the lead singers head.
They're alright but they are more of a single band rather than an album band

The music is just kind of shallow in my opinion. Not hard to love they're all pretty proficient in their instruments, but I don't like the lyrics usually. I even like early strokes which could be seen as somewhat similar. Idk I think they try and play it a bit too safe, and that's why they resonate with a lot of what /mu/ calls normies
