buzzword is a buzzword

Why is no one ever talking about this? I think it's great and pretty catchy too.
There are maybe 2/3 short parts which fill the complete album and it's not getting repetitive or boring

My friend and I scored some shrooms recently, what are good albums to play while we trip? As I understand it, we'll need about 6 hours of music.
Pic related is my favorite psych pop album.

Can - Tago Mago
Os Mutantes - Os Mutantes
The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour

nice for you, I wouldn't spend the whole trip on listening to music but as you like
I'd rec candy claws, odessey and oracle, pic related and similar comfy music.
I know it's not really psy but whatever
John Lennon and Harry Nillson weird rambling over real trippy music. Worth a full listen.

Sorry bud but it's true. It's also far more psychedelic than The Narrow Way.

Nah Syds lyricism is juvenile, but gilmours pastoral writing combined with all the effects is way trippier. Did you even hear the guitar on part 3 with the Leslie speaker delay? A billion times more psychedelic and druggie
>>60279188
I disagree about Syd's lyrics being juvenile. I think the child-like naivety of Syd's writing is far more trippier than Gilmour's lyrics. To be honest, I love both Syd's and Gilmour's music when tripping but if we're talking about psychedelia I always felt as though Syd was closer to that '60s core psychedelia than Gilmour.
Underrated psych coming through

See I think the English folkish character and child-like naivety present in Syd's writing from Arnold Layne, to See Emily Play, all the way to examples from his solo career like 'Dominoes' and 'Terrapin' just add more psychedelic character than Gilmour.
Gilmour always struck me as a progressive and avant-garde kind of musician, not very psychedelic.

'psychedelia' basically means mind expanding, and i believe that applies especially to avant garde/artsy music as well
if you dont even want to go there, they were just expanding on syds style but with neater tape manipulation and processing, a better more modern sound.

ummagumma just sounds a lot more weirder to me desu. piper at the gates of dawn stuff is just kinda poppy, its really good and i like syds style of guitar playing a lot, still think ummagumma is more psych
>>60279488
That is true, and I agree to the extent that you can apply the psychedelic label to the avant-garde sort of music that Pink Floyd made in that exploratory period between A Saucerful of Secrets and Meddle, as they scrambled to find a direction after Syd was forced out.
But when you say psychedelic music, I tend to think The Piper at the Gates of Dawn over Ummagumma. Syd was a psychedelic musician, who lived and breathed the British psychedelic scene, and essentially hand-crafted an entire underground movement. Gilmour, on the other hand, is a progressive musician, in my opinion. I can't see him creating the crazy improvisational circular riffs of Interstellar Overdrive on his own, or writing the wacky and acid-addled lyrics of songs like Bike. I can, however, see him improvising the classic blues-based jams of Fat Old Sun and The Embryo, and forming the basis of the long, mostly instrumental passages that Pink Floyd is known for, where the guitar almost seems to sing.
Any opinions on Ariel Pink? I understand he's involved with a lot of different styles and whatnot, but I think he's very good at the retro psych rock game, desu senpai.

I love PF, but psychedelia has progressed with the pace of technology.
